Match.Com is one of the most well established singles' sites around and, once you get past the basic profile form, the changes they have made are very impressive to say the least! Prepare to spend at least a couple of hours. I know that sounds like a lot of time, but it will be worth it. ...And let me say here, if you haven't already read it, take the time to read my article, LadyWeb's Advice To Follow Before You Begin definitely take time to read it before you go to Match.Com.

The basic format for adding your profile is simple and easy to use. Plus it has some nice touches, like suggestions for what to say and how to say it, and they give you the option on many questions of adding more information.

Warning! Warning! If you have read my other reviews you know by now that I use a lot of words and Match.Com has some very definite limitations on the number of characters (including spaces) that you can use in their free form sections. They limit you to 250 characters in four separate boxes on the "My Interests" section of your profile, but I'll be darned if I could make it accept 250 characters in each of the four boxes. I don't know for sure if the little boxes couldn't add up to 1000, or if they "really" meant 250 character combined among the 4 little boxes. But it more or less turned out ok, since later on in process, they allowed me another 2,000 characters to say who I am, and what I was hoping to find. After finishing up your profile, then you upload up to five photos and your done!

Well not quite. Match.Com has a wonderful set of complex "optional" interactive quizzes called a Total Attraction Matching™ system that help you to clearly define both your physical and personality type, and the physical and personality type that would most likely be attractive to you. These were fascinating to take, and I have to admit I enjoyed the process, but if you've read some of my other reviews you know already that I'm probably weird because I enjoy taking self-analysis tests. In order to take full advantage of these unique tests, you will want to have two items handy before you visit Match.Com, a handmirror (larger is better) and a literal mug shot of yourself. You know the type, head shot, close up and looking straight into the camera, and for one question a similar type of side photo would also be helpful. Once all of this has been completed your basic profile will be immediately visible, however your photos and any submitted text must be approved by the Match.Com staff.

Once you are approved they sent your test results, and I have to admit that mine were almost 100% totally right on target. It was especially fascinating to see their assessment, based on my selections, of the type of person I find attractive, so I would really recommend that you go to Match.Com and try these tests, if nothing else, for the valuable personal insights you will receive in return for your time.
